I’ve looked all day on the internet for patterns or books…….anything. I’ve got the jig, wire, tools and time. Now, I need the patterns.

Anybody know where to get a book for making wire necklaces with beads?

Thanks,
Mickey

What I do is find something I like a picture or drawing reduce it in size if needed, print it on thin paper (onion paper) put it under a transparent
jig line up the pegs to fit the pattern the best I can and work with it.

Or you can place the pattern on a piece of wood tap small finishing nail approx 1/8th inch apart around your design.

If you were to get soft wire, it can be used with a jig too, but must be hardened first. You can do that by hammering lightly on the wire.

It will harden, but it’s hard to get it like half hard without flattening it.

You can get wire soft from Parawire.com.

They have soft acrylic coated colored wires in many gauges from I think 36 to 12. They carry gold and silver with copper and brass too.

Then there is Wire-Sculpture.com.

They have the real thing, no coatings, and you can get the half hard wire too, which is good for twisting wire on a jig. The pattern is much likely to stay with half hard.

They, too, have soft wire like the Parawire, but more expensive, but it doesn’t have any coating on it, it is pure natural wire.

They have gold filled, silver, copper and brass. From gauges 12 to 26. They may have more than what is on the website, you just have to call to find out.
