I used sterling silver and copper wire to construct this heart-shaped pendant, and I really like the warmth the copper brings to the piece. I formed the heart first, then wove it with fine-gauge sterling silver, using a block pattern for a mechanical look.

The remaining copper wire forms the rosette, and I swirled the remaining sterling silver into a sinuous art nouveau design that contrasts with the mechanical heart.

I added sterling silver beads and a garnet bead for twinkle, then finished the piece with a garnet teardrop briolette.

Four LOS (liver of sulfur) baths and one polishing later, here is the Lola heart!

Someone wiser than I once said that Steampunk is at the intersection of technology and romance. I think this heart pendant is there, too.

Liver of sulfer NEW
by: Suzan

I don’t know if you’re interested in trying it but instead of liver of sulfur I suspend my raw copper wire over ammonia for a few minutes. Learn this from watching Rukodel on YouTube. Much safer and less mess! Your heart is beautiful!

Beautiful Rose
by: Shannon Breens

Your rose/ heart is beautiful and I would so buy one if you start selling them. Let me know because I suck at wire and want to make a few rings (to replace some that can’t bare to wear anymore).

Whoa there, this is one outstanding piece! I don’t tend to favor Steampunk, but this is exceptional! Great work. Pam
