I have put my earrings on a business card (vertical orientation)with all my info on it and then punched holes for the wires.

I then fold the top half of the card and slide it onto a piece of ribbon I have strung on a display board.

The only problem with this is when I have an outdoor farmer’s market or flea market the wind will sometimes be a problem.

Any other cheap ideas for displaying earrings?

I do this for my stud earrings for outdoors you can use a table top chip clip/snack display to clip the earring cards in place and have them look just like and hanging earring display.

Some clip displays even come with clips on both sides or revolve!
