I love this double chevron bracelet. Don’t you? A double friendship bracelet pattern is made exactly as a single bracelet, with an extra forward knot to join the two halves. This double chevron bracelet is simply two joined chevron bracelets.
What you need:
- Embroidery floss in your choice of colors:
This double bracelet pattern can be made using at least two colors or as many as you would like. This particular bracelet (see picture) calls for four colors: gold (1), rust (2), green (3), and blue (4). - Masking tape, a safety pin and pillow, or a clipboard
- Scissors
- Measuring Tape
Things to know before you begin:
The knots used for this pattern are the forward knot (F) and backward knot (B).
Instructions for the knots and starting and finishing instructions are here.
Step 1
Cut two strands of each color to desired length. For this particular pattern, 65 inches will produce approximately a 6 ½ inch (including loop and knot) tight bracelet.
Step 2
Fold strands in half and make a loop and knot at the top. Pin the knot to your workstation pillow.
Step 3
Arrange colors: 1234 4321 1234 4321. The outer strands (gold) will be used first.
Step 4.
Starting with the far right gold strand, make three backward knots.
Step 5.
Using the middle gold strands, make one forward knot to join. With the center right gold strand, make four forward knots, with the last knot joining the gold strands. Your color pattern should now be 1234 4321 2341 1432.
Step 6
With the gold strand left in the middle, make three backward knots.
Step 7.
With the far left gold strand, make four forward knots to join the gold strands. Your color pattern should now be 2341 1432 2341 1432.
Step 8.
Repeat from Step 4 until you have reached your desired length.
Step 9.
Divide the strands into two sections, and braid each group.
